1939 Zenith Radio
Project details:
Various techniques were used to produce this 1:1 replica of a 1939 Zenith radio.
Sapele was used for the main body with a strip zebrano veneer for detail. Both were heat bent over the carcass of the radio.
The dials were modelled in Rhino and then 3d printed. A master for one of the push buttons was turned on the lathe and then cast in polyurethane resin from a silicone rubber mold.
Several elements such as the inner dial were laser cut and spray finished.
Other processes & techniques used include the mill, vacuum forming, cellulose spraying, casting with metal powders, power tools & traditional hand finished elements.
Scale: 1:1
Materials: Veneer, 3d printed components, resin, chemiwood
