Pentonville Prison

Sarah Wigglesworth Architects commissioned us to construct a 1/500 maple timber model of Pentonville Prison for The London Festival of Architecture event 'Unlocking Pentonville'.

A laser engraved contoured plywood baseboard was constructed to hold a number of inserts which could be swapped in and out of the model. One insert showed the existing layout of the prison, which also included boundary walls and conceptual trees. The other inserts were left blank for the client to design various iterations of their proposed design themselves.

This model is currently on display at the Royal Academy Arts 250th Summer Exhibition.
